Most Barcelona buildings conceal a scarcely known history. The Alhambra, an Andalusian-style house in uptown Barcelona, is a case in point.

Cultural heritage
Legend as it that the German owner of a printing press came to Barcelona at the end of the 19th century. Married to a woman from Granada homesick for her native city, he had a house built for her in the style of the Alhambra. It is a private apartment building today and can only be visited with its residents’ permission.

L'edifici és un clar exponent de l'arquitectura historicista neoàrab, que tracta totes les obertures amb arcs de ferradura i els panys cecs amb estucs llisos, portant la decoració més rica cap a l'interior del vestíbul i espais comuns, propi de l'arquitectura nazarí de Granada.
