The meeting is being held at the Espai Mestral from 5 pm to 7.30 pm and includes an introductory talk about blue employment by Anna Majó, director of Strategic Sectors and Innovation at Barcelona Activa, plus a discussion between different professionals from the sector.

The meeting will look at new work opportunities arising in spheres such as marine biotechnology, managing smart ports, renewable ocean energy and sustainable sailing; how universities and professional training centres can adapt to these new needs, and a look at some successful cases.

Upcoming sessions

The aim of the initiative is to create a community of companies and entrepreneurs capable of generating synergies between them and with the city’s social, economic and scientific community.

A further nine sessions are planned between now and next February, to be held at the Espai Mestral on the last Thursday of each month. All the meetings are free and open to the public, with advance registration on the Port Olímpic website.
