A commercial tradition with a long history

Back in the 19th century, Vila de Gràcia was the largest and most thriving municipality on Barcelona’s periphery. Many well-to-do families moved there and its main road, Carrer Gran de Gràcia, soon became the town’s commercial hub. This road, which linked Barcelona with Lesseps, was laid in 1825, since when shops of every kind have sprung up.

The Gran de Gràcia Shopping Hub today is popular with the neighbourhood’s local residents, visitors from other parts of the city and tourists.
