Casa Fornells, designed by the architect Joan Rubió, was one of the first mansions to be built when Tibidabo was urbanised.

Cultural heritage
In 1903, several years before designing the Roviralta House, the same architect designed another mansion just a short distance away up the street. Formally known as the Fornells House, this fanciful construction is commonly referred to as “the Easter cake”. Though Catalan Art Nouveau, it contains a few medieval elements that can be spotted in the decorations framing the door and the gargoyles. The tower is inspired by the Northern European architecture that greatly influenced many architects at the time.
